Class 120(2). In a flyer spinning frame for bast or long leaf fibres having positively driven sliver guiding and supporting means located between pairs of feed and delivery rollers, an additional pair of rollers, arranged to rotate at the same circumferential speed as the delivery rollers, is provided between the latter and each flyer. A machine having feed rollers 2, 9, delivery rollers 14, 16, drafting belts 22, 23 and a flyer 18 has the additional rollers 20, 21 urged together by a spring 17 that also applies pressure to the delivery roller 16 through a lever 51. A condensing guide 44 is located between the pairs of rollers 14, 16 and 20, 21 and a thread feeler lever 34 is arranged to bear upon the thread while it is intact and to move on thread breakage to disconnect the drive between the shaft 1 and the roller 2 which, in turn, drives the two belts 22, 23. The belts 22, 23 are pressed together by an adjustable lever 39. Specification 684,777 is referred to.
