Abstract

1,171,632. Drafting. SCHUBERT & SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 4 Nov., 1966 [6 Nov., 1965], No. 49456/66. Headings D1D and D1F. A drawframe for drafting fibre bands S has at least one drawing head which comprises a number of roller type drafting units each including fibre controlling means e.g. drafting aprons in addition to drafting rollers, means, such as cans 6 and suitable guides, to supply the bands S, one to each drafting unit without contact between the bands and means such as a funnel 71 for collecting all the bands from each head after they have left the drafting rollers and combining them for delivery to a container, the presser rollers of adjacent drafting units being coaxial but mounted for independent movement either in pairs as shown in Fig. 1 or independently as shown in Fig. 7. The top rollers of adjacent drafting units may be mounted on a common loading arm 1, see also Figs. 4 and 5 not shown, and the top condenser rollers of condenser roller pairs mounted at the outlet end of the drafting units may be carried by the loading arm, the loading of the condenser rollers being releasable independently of the drafting rollers.
