Abstract

415,254. Drawing apparatus for spinning-frames. HARRIS, T., 109, Hazard Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island, U.S.A. July 18, 1933, No. 20244. [Class 120 (ii).] High draft mechanism comprises successive pairs of rollers adapted to draw the material and to impart a false twist thereto in opposite directions between successive pairs. A number of platforms 11-16 are supported on standards 17 and carry the pairs of rollers, the first and last pairs 26, 82 being mounted for simple rotation in bearings on stationary plates, and the other pairs mounted for rotation in plates which themselves are rotated by suitable gearing in alternate opposite directions to impart successive opposite false twist. The pressing-roller of each pair is mounted in a spring-pressed bracket adapted to be reciprocated from the driven roller by cam and lever mechanism to prevent grooving of the rollers. The plates can be adjusted on the standards 17 to vary the distance between the nips.
