Abstract

846,633. Valve amplifying circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO. Ltd. May 12, 1959 [July 23, 1958], No. 23688/58. Class 40(6). In a distributed amplifier comprising a grid line L1 and anode line, the portion L2 of the anode line remote from the output end 2 is of uniform impedance whereas the portion L3-6 adjacent the output end is tapered. The anode line may comprise different parts of a single winding the pitch of which is varied in discrete steps over the tapered portion of the line. Two such amplifiers may be used in push-pull (Fig. 2 not shown) the input and output being by means of centre-tapped transformers. The amplifier may employ pairs of triodes in cascode connection instead of screen-grid valves.
