Abstract
520,549. Valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and ROCHE, A. H. Oct. 25, 1938, No. 30852. [Class 40 (v)] In a negative feedback amplifier a variable element in the feedback path operates to change the gain of a variable mu valve in the forward path of the amplifier. The Figure shows an amplifier including a variable mu valve V1 with the feedback applied to a variable resistance Rf in the cathode circuit. The arrangement may be such that the change in the feedback is equal and opposite to the change in the amplifier gain without feedback. The variable cathode impedance may include a reactive element so that the gain varies with frequency.
