Abstract

683,319. Valve amplifying circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Feb. 28, 1951 [June 21, 1960], No. 15530/50. Class 40 (vi). In an amplifier in which the input is applied to the cathode of a first valve and the output is derived from the anode a second valve is connected having its input in parallel with the first valve and its output feeding the grid of the first valve so that the amplifier may exhibit an infinite positive or negative input impedance and a zero, positive, or negative output impedance. The Figure shows an amplifier in which the input is applied across the cathode impedance Zc in parallel to the valves 1, 11, the voltage produced across the anode load R of valve 11 being applied directly to the control grid of valve 1 from whose anode circuit the output voltage is derived. It is shown that by adjusting the values of the circuit constants the input impedance may be made infinite in either a positive or negative sense and the output impedance either zero, positive or negative.
