Abstract
618,259. Thermionic valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. June 6, 1946, No. 17265. Convention date, June 26, 1945. [Class 40 (vi)] The anode circuit of an amplifier valve V1 includes an additional valve V2 with high internal A.C. resistance and low internal D.C. resistance, so that the D.C. voltage drop in the anode circuit remains small when the amplifier is working into a high impedance external load. The external load may be connected between the anodes of the valves V1, V2 or between the anode of the amplifier valve V and the negative H.T. terminal. The two outputs are of opposite phase and may be used simultaneously. Negative feedback to the additional valve V2 is provided by resistors R1, R2, R3 and condenser C1. The bias voltages for the screen and control grid of each pentode valve V1, V2 may be provided by the voltage drop across suitable resistances or by a separate battery.
