Abstract

758,991. Transistor amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Sept. 8, 1954 [Sept. 24, 1953], No. 26035/54. Class 40 (6). In an amplifier having input and output electrodes 14, 17 and a common electrode 16, a non-linear resistor 19 is connected to the input to maintain a constant D.C. potential between the input 14 and the common earth. The circuit is described as applied to an earthedemitter P-N-P junction transistor with a load 31 and emitter biasing resistor 35. The element 19 may be a temperature-variable resistor or a gas-discharge tube, in which case the tube is returned to the negative pole of battery 15, Fig. 3 (not shown). A resistor may be added in series with the impedance element 19 and a number of stages may be cascaded. One stage may be over-compensated to avoid compensation in the remaining stages.
