Abstract
794,841. Valve amplifying circuits. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, Inc. Oct. 12, 1955 5 [Oct. 25, 1954], No. 29088/55. Class 40 (6). In a cathode-follower circuit an auxiliary amplifier is used to reduce the difference between input and output voltages. The output voltage across the cathode resistor 11 of the cathode follower V1 is applied to the grid of one valve V4 of a cathode-coupled pair, while the input voltage is applied to the grid of the second valve V3. An amplified voltage proportional to the difference between input and output is obtained across the load resistor 21 and is applied as a correction voltage to the output, via a further cathode follower V2. The resistances 23, 24 provide for biasing the valve V2; A.C. variations are applied in full to its grid via condenser 26. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the further cathode follower is placed in series with the anode circuit of the main cathode follower: an additional cathode follower is also inserted between the input and the grid of the second valve in the cathode-coupled pair.
