Abstract
865,125. Valve amplifying circuits. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. Sept. 15, 1959 [Oct. 31, 1958], No. 31408/59. Class 40(6) A direct current amplifier which is drift-free comprises a cathode-coupled pair having equal anode load resistors Ra<SP>1</SP>, Ra<SP>2</SP> and a common cathode resistor Ra/ 2 of half this value. The supply source 3, 4 is earthed at its centre point and the output taken from the common point of one or other of two pairs of equal resistors Rs connected between the anodes of each of the valves and the cathode end of the resistor Ra/ 2 . The input is applied between earth and the grid of the valve 1, the grid of the other valve being earthed (Fig. 1, not shown). Alternatively, negative feedback may be introduced by returning the grid of the valve 2 to a tap on a resistor Rn connected from the common point of the corresponding anode resistors Rs to earth, symmetry being maintained by connecting a similar resistor between the common point of the second pair of resistors Rs and earth. The tapping points may be other than at the centre, provided that the parts of the source 3, 4, of the resistors Rs and the relationship of the resistor Ra/ 2 to Ra 1 or Ra 2 are in the same ratio.
