Abstract
708,299. Valve amplifying circuits. MARCONIS WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. May 19, 1952 [Sept. 20, 1951], No. 22099/51. Class 40 (6) In a D.C. amplifier comprising a balanced pair of valves VI, 2 with a common cathode resistance CR12, D.C. coupled to a succeeding two-stage amplifier V3, 4, the D.C. to be amplified being applied to one valve V1 of the balanced pair and feedback being applied to the other valve V2 from the cathode circuit of the output valve V4, the cathode of the first valve V3 of the two-stage amplifier is connected to the tapping point of a potentiometer comprising resistances R10, 11 connected across the H.T. supply. In this way the amplifier, which can be adjusted by adjustment of the feedback between valves V2, 4 to be insensitive to change in heater voltage, is also rendered insensitive to changes in the H.T. potential.
