Abstract

884,459. Transistor amplifier circuits. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. March 28, 1958, No. 9953/58. Class 40(6). In a multistage transistor amplifier gain control voltages are applied to adjacent stages in opposite polarity. As applied to a twostage I.F. amplifier, a negative-going A.G.C. voltage is applied from the detector C to the base of the first stage A and causes the voltage across the resistor 10 in the collector circuit to be positive-going. This voltage is applied to the base of the second stage B via resistor 9, so that as the output impedance of stage A increases that of B decreases, the desired decrease of gain being produced by impedance mismatch between the stages. A preceding stage may be controlled by the voltage across resistor 8.
