Abstract

849,316. Transistor amplifying circuits. POSTMASTER GENERAL. Dec. 2, 1958 [Dec. 3, 1957], No. 37671/57. Class 40(6). An amplifier comprises a first transistor 1 in common collector connexion with its emitter directly connected to the base of a second transistor 2 in common emitter connexion. The collector current of the first is stabilized by a D.C. feedback path comprising resistors R2, 3, 4 and that of the second by emitter circuit resistors R1, 5 of which R5 provides overall D.C. feedback via resistor R4 and the input circuit of transistor 1. Input and output transformers 3, 5 respectively, are provided, an A.C. negative feedback path comprising resistor R6 and condenser C1 being connected between tapping points on the secondary of transformer 3 and primary of transformer 5, permitting of the overall gain and input and output impedances of the amplifier being adjusted to desired values.
