Abstract
722,428. Valve amplifying circuits. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Dec. 10, 1952 [Dec. 10, 1951], No. 28899/51. Class 40 (6). In a cathode-follower circuit, the input is fed to a correcting circuit connected to the cathode follower V4 ot maintain the output amplitude and D.C. level more nearly equal to the input. The correcting circuit comprises a second cathode follower V1 with the negative end of the load resistor R1 connected to the anode of a compensating valve V2 fed from the input over a phase-reversing valve V3. The setting of the potentioneter R3 is adjusted so that the output signal is of the same amplitude as the input, the setting of potentiometer R4 determining the D.C. level of the output. Resistor R2 in the cathode circuit of valve V2 provides feedback to give a constant-current characteristic. Specifications 621,752 and 697,879, [both in Group XXXVI], are referred to.
