Abstract

672,373. Valve amplifying circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Oct. 18, 1950 [Feb. 24, 1950], No. 4844/50. Class 40 (vi) In an amplifier of the cathode follower type there is connected in parallel with the load ZL of the valve V1 a further valve V2 in series with an impedance Z2, the grid of the valve V2, to which the signal is applied, being connected over impedance Z3 to the anode of the valve V1, while the grid of the valve V1 and anode of valve V2 are also joined together over a path which may include an impedance network. The output and input impedances may be made respectively zero and infinite, the necessary conditions being given in the Specification. The response of the arrangement to supply fluctuations is such that by combining it with a driving amplifier fed from the same supply, the output may be made independent of such fluctuations.
