Abstract
696,441. Valve amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and HARLING, D. W. Jan. 15, 1952 [Jan. 23, 1951], No. 1738/51. Class 40 (vi). A circuit for coupling to a low impedance load comprises two similar cathode followers with the load connected between their cathode impedances at points such that the D.C. voltage across the load is zero, the signal being fed to the valvesin such phase and amplitude that one terminal of the load is at zero signal voltage. in the circuit shown the signal input to the second cathode follower is derived from an anode resistor of the first and is of such value that the voltage developed across resistor 8 by the current flowing from valve 1 through the load is balanced out by the voltage derived from valve 2. Resistor 7 may be varied to equalize the D.C. voltage at the output terminals. D.C. coupling may be provided between the valves or D.C. restorers 20, 21 may be used and an additional amplifier may be interposed between the valves. The two valves may be fed separately from a single source.
