Abstract
698,278. Valve generating circuits. MUIRHEAD & CO., Ltd. Feb. 5, 1952 [Feb. 8, 1951], No. 3123/61. Class 40 (vi). An oscillator comprises an amplifier including two valves having low anode resistance, a low impedance load in each anode, a common cathode resistance having a high value compared with the two anode resistances and loads in parallel and a 4-terminal frequency controlling element having its input terminals connected to the anodes and its output terminals connected in regenerative sense to the control grids. In the circuit shown the output of a tuning fork frequency controlling circuit is applied in push-pull to the control grids where symmetrical limiting of the oscillation amplitude is effected by grid current. The input of the fork circuit is provided from push-pull connections to equal anode loads. The cathode resistor stabilizes the frequency against changes in circuit conditions while adjustment of the grid bias or individual or joint control of the anode loads will provide a small adjustment of frequency.
