Abstract
635,834. Valve amplifying circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and GEORGE, D. F. April 3, 1947, No. 9194. [Class 40 (vi)] Part of the input to a valve amplifier is applied to the control grid of a valve in the feedback path, and a feedback voltage is fed to its cathode. As shown, part of the input to a push-pull amplifier V1, V2 is applied to grids of valve PV1, PV2. A voltage taken from a variable tapping on a resistance across the primary of the output transformer T is fed to the cathode of each feedback valve PV1, PV2, and the output of each valve PV1, PV2 is fed back to the input of the pushpull valves V1, V2. In this manner maximum feedback is provided if the output is 180 degrees out of phase with the input, but if the output is not exactly in antiphase the feedback is reduced.
