Abstract
633,605. Frequency modulation. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL, Ltd. Jan. 22, 1948, No. 1945. Convention date, Jan. 25, 1947. [Class 40 (v)] In a valve amplifying circuit 5, 8 for frequency modulated oscillations in which a control voltage is derived indicative of amplitude modulation in the output and supplied to a control grid of one valve at least of the amplifying circuit to keep the amplitude practically constant a non-shunted resistance 26 or 27 connected in a cathode circuit common to both the input and output circuits counteracts any variation of the input capacity. of the valve(s) and phase distortion due to detuning of the input circuit. The control voltage may be derived from one anode circuit via a condenser 14 and a diode 15 shunted by a tapped resistor 17, 18. The tapping byepasses to earth any radio frequency by a circuit 19, 20 series tuned to the central frequency, and passes low-frequency amplitude variation control voltages to valves 5, 8 through resistors 21, 22, the cathode resistors 26, 27 suppressing input capacity variation.
