Thermionic generators, amplifiers, and modulating systems.-In a valve transmitter for wireless signalling, of the kind employing a control oscillator A and a power amplifier B, the grid bias on the modulating valve e is maintained by rectification of the oscillatory currents from the control oscillator. The modulating-valve e is connected across the grid condenser f of the amplifier B, and the modulator grid circuit includes a resistance h shunted by a condenser. Oscillatory current supplied by a coil d, coupled to the control oscillator, is rectified by the two-electrode valve g and creates a direct current through the resistance h. A biassing voltage, proportional to the high-frequency voltage of the oscillator A, is thus maintained on the grid of the modulator e.
