Abstract

581,074. Valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and WESTON, J. D. Feb. 7, 1945, No. 3161. [Class 40 (v)] In an amplifier, the condenser 7 has an impedance comparable with the anode resistance 5 at the low-frequency end of the band, the condenser 10 being chosen to keep the gain substantially constant over the band. When the grid-bias of valve 1 is varied by an automatic gain control circuit, the condenser 12 has the same order of capacity as condenser 10. Negative feed-back is provided by resistance 3, a rising response at the high-frequency end of the band being given by condenser 16 and resistance 17 when connected across resistance 3.
