Abstract

786,706. Valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. March 15, 1956, No. 8081/56. Class 40 (6). A push-pull amplifier comprises an input transformer 6 feeding a pair of valves the cathodes of which are earthed. Bias is obtained from grid current in resistors 4, 5 which connect each grid to the corresponding screen grid. A double diode 10 is arranged with its anodes earthed and with the cathodes connected to the opposite ends of the secondary of the transformer 6; in this way, whichever end of the secondary winding is instantaneously negative is clamped to earth and a positive-going drive applied to that valve connected to the opposite end.
