Abstract
453,246. Valve amplifiers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and FARREN, L. I., c/o General Electric Co., Ltd., Wembley, Middlesex. Aug. 28, 1935, No. 24066. [Class 40 (v)] A multi-stage amplifier provided with negative reaction to reduce distortion has at least one subsidiary reaction path between the input and output of a single stage effective at frequencies outside the working range without producing such a phase difference between input and output as to increase instability. The impedance may be in parallel with the amplifier load ZL or in series with this load, Fig. 2 (not shown), and may comprise a capacity shunted by a resistance in series with an inductance shunted by a resistance. The resistance - capacity element may provide grid bias. The Specification gives a mathematical analysis of the feed-back conditions.
