Abstract

489,289. Valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., and STRONG, C. E. Jan. 22, 1937, No. 1957. [Class 40 (v)] In an amplifier the input circuit is arranged in series with the output circuit so that the load current passes through the input circuit and sets up a voltage giving negative feed-back. The Figure shows a push-pull tuned arrangement in which the grids are grounded and the input is applied between the cathodes. A coil 5 is provided, as shown, to give an additional feed-back in a positive sense partially to compensate for the reverse feedback. The filaments are fed by double wound chokes 6, 7 and the inductance of the leads connecting the grids to ground may be neutralized for any given frequency by adjustment of condensers inserted in these leads.
