Abstract

490,347. Valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Jan. 7, 1938, No. 546. Convention date, Jan. 7, 1937. [Class 40 (v)] When the primary inductance of the output transformer of an amplifier is so low as to reduce low frequency response and the leakage inductance and secondary capacity so large as to reduce the high frequency response, an impedance is associated with the input circuit and a feedback path is provided by which a voltage proportional to that across the primary winding of the output transformer is fed in gain reducing phase to the impedance associated with the input which comprises capacitive reactance so that the frequency response is corrected. The Figure shows a feedback from the primary winding 15 through a resistance 24 to an impedance 13 in the input circuit. High frequency correction is effected by the network 26, 27. Resistances 14, 16 shunted by condensers 17, 18 are provided for grid biassing.
