Abstract

519,448. Valve amplifying circuits. PHILCO RADIO & TELEVISION CORPORATION. Sept. 23, 1938, No. 27798. Convention date, Oct. 16, 1937. [Class 40 (v)] In a push-pull amplifier part of the load circuit winding is included in the output circuit of one of the valves V2 and connections are taken from another part of the winding to feed the input with signal voltage of opposite phase to the output and, part of the load circuit winding is included in the output circuit of a second valve V1, the input and output of which are degeneratively coupled. The Figure shows an arrangement in which the signal voltage of opposite phase is fed to the input of V2 by a potentiometer R3, R4, a shunt condenser C3 being provided to compensate for the input capacity of the valve V2 to render the circuit independent of frequency. The valves V1, V2 preferably are provided with screen grids and the negative feedback is provided by resistance R5 and its amount is controlled by the magnitude of this resistance to the equivalent shunt impedance R1, R2 and the impedance of the valve V3. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the input of the valve V2 is taken from a tapping on the primary of the output transformer and the negative feedback is applied to the valve V1 from the secondary winding of the output transformer.
