352,357. Valve generating circuits. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Lynn, L. H. ; 115, Elmer Avenue. Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) Nov. 4, 1930, No. 33181. Convention date, Nov. 4, 1929. [Class 40 (v).] A thermionic generating system comprises two valves in push-pull with the output circuit of a third valve coupled to their input circuit, the load circuit of the single valve being balanced with respect to the cathode by connecting an intermediate point on the load circuit to the cathode and providing a balancing capacity between one side of the load circuit and the cathode. The tuned load circuit 4 of the screen-grid high frequency amplifier 1 has the mid point of its tuning condenser 6 connected to earth, as is the cathode. The capacity to earth of the upper part of the inductance 5, consisting of the anode-cathode capacity and condenser 15, is balanced by connecting the lower end of 5 to the cathode through a balancing condenser 16. This ensures that the opposed-phase voltage fed to the push-pull amplifiers 2, 3 is equal, ensuring stability and freedom from parasitic oscillations in circuit 4. The output circuit 13 may be tuned to a harmonic of the frequency of circuit 4.
