477,815. Valve amplifying circuits. WILLANS, P. W., BROWN, A. J., and BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd. July 7, 1936, No. 20742 /35. [Class 40 (v)] In a valve amplifier a coupling to minimize the capacitative load of one stage on the following stage comprises a buffer valve with a screen grid connected to the cathode at signal frequency and an output transformer in the cathode lead. The Figure shows a buffer valve 1 having an output transformer the primary 4 or secondary 10 or both windings of which may be tuned by a condenser if amplification over a restricted range is required.
