Abstract

482,785. Valve amplifying circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. April 1, 1937, No. 9301. Convention date, April 1, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] Comprises various arrangements in which one or more negative feed-back connections are made from a class B push-pull output stage to a previous stage in a cascade amplifier. Fig. 1 shows two class B stages in tandem with feed-back connections from the upper valve of the final pair to the lower valve of the preceding pair. Close coupling between chokes 31, 32 and primary windings 8, 8<1> reduces parallel-singing tendency. The arrangement neutralizes the gasping effect experienced in previous attempts to use class B stages in cascade. In other arrangements, a single feed-back connection is made from one end of the primary of the output transformers to a single sided stage which may immediately precede the class B stage, Fig. 3 (not shown), or may be separated from it by a single sided stage, Fig. 2 (not shown) or by a class B and a class A push-pull stage, Fig. 4 (not shown).
