Abstract
388,067. Valve amplifying circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Marconi House, Strand, London, GREEN, E., Penrose, Long Stomps, Chelmsford, and ROBB, F. G., 8, West Belvedere Road, Danbury, both in Essex. Aug. 18, 1931, No. 23283. [Class 40 (v).] Parasitic oscillations of harmonic frequency, due in part to the interelectrode capacities of the valve, are eliminated by inserting an adjustable reactance, such as the coil 6, Fig. 1, connected in series with a condenser 5 between the grid of the amplifier 1 and the end of the main oscillatory circuit 3, 4 remote from the anode. The inductance 6, which may be shunted by a condenser and damping resistance, is adjusted so that the parasitic frequency does not coincide with any harmonic frequency of the main oscillation circuit. In Fig. 3 two amplifiers 1, 1<1> are energized in push-pull from a " drive " coil 2<1>, and feed a centre-tapped output circuit 3, 4, the anti-parasitic coils 6, 6<1> being connected as shown. In Fig. 4, the eliminating circuit 10, 11 is separate from but coupled equally to both grids, either through the leads, as shown, or through coupling-coils, in order to prevent any retroaction on the main oscillatory circuit 3, 4.
