Abstract
552,760. Valve amplifying circuits. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. (Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken). Dec. 10, 1941, No. 15941. Addition to 552,526. [Class 40 (v)] In an ultra short wave push-pull amplifier as claimed in the parent Specification in which input damping is compensated by inductance in the screen-grid leads the signal-noise ratio is improved by compensating for the distribution noise by connecting the low potential end of the output impedances to the screen grids. Each screen grid may have two separated leads, Fig. 3 (not shown). The output impedances 51, 511 may be connected to tappings on the screen grid inductances 8<1>, 8<11> and 9<1>, 9<11> so that only the parts 8', 91 are traversed by the distribution noise current and are such as to . exactly compensate the distribution noise whereas the whole of the inductances are such as to provide the required damping reduction. The two amplifying systems may be arranged in the same envelope to ensure that the cathodes are interconnected by the shortesf possible lead.
