Abstract
487,270. Valve amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and FARREN, L. I. March 5, 1937, No. 6580. [Class 40 (v)] A multi-stage negative feedback amplifier operating over a range f1 to f2 where f1 is different from zero and f2 is not much greater than 2f1 comprises at least one stage resonant within or near the operating range and the gain once round the loop Á# is not less than 100 over the operating range. The Figure shows circuits L1C1 L2C2 resonant near the limiting frequencies of the operating range and the impedance of which at high or low operating frequencies approximates to a resistance. As shown each limb of the tuned circuits includes a resistance R one of which resistances may be zero. The Specification gives a mathematical discussion of the phase changes produced and the gain obtained and numerical data for the amplifier shown.
