Abstract
245,839. Willans, P. W. Oct. 14, 1924. Amplifying systems, thermionic, are provided with reaction between the input and output circuits to compensate for the distortion of an inductive intervalve audio frequency coupling device. The reactive coupling 8 may consist of a condenser to reduce the effect of the self-capacity of the transformer, or an inductance to increase the effective inductance of the transformer, or a resistance may be employed to increase the inphase component of amplification. A combination may be used and an impedance 13 is included in the grid circuit in series with the input. A reaction transformer 11, 12 may be employed to compensate for the magnetic leakage in the transformer.
