Abstract
645,955. Valve amplifying circuits. SOC. INDEPENDANTE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL. Jan. 30, 1948, No. 2863. Convention date, Feb. 5, 1947. [Class 40 (vi)] In a multi-stage amplifier with negative feedback from the output to the input, a positive feed-back path in at least one of the stages situated before the output stage is provided which has means to cause it to decrease to zero or even to become negative for frequencies outside the frequency band of the amplifier. As shown, the overall negative feed-back path CR leads from a resistance RS across the output to a transformer T2 to the other coil of which the local positive feed-back is applied. A band filter 4 is provided to cause the positive feedback to disappear for frequencies outside the normal band of the transmitter. The combined feed-backs and the incoming signal are combined in transformer T1 connected to the grid of the first valve. In another arrangement filter circuits are arranged between the cathode of the valve and earth to neutralize the positive feedback at the desired frequencies. Further constructions utilize filters also in the main negative feed-back path.
