Abstract

617,647. Valve circuits for radio reception. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. Oct. 8, 1946, No. 29996. Convention date, May 3. 1943. [Class 40 (v)] In a frequency-changing arrangement utilizing a multi grid valve, the signal and local oscillations are applied to the same inner grid and distribution noise is reduced by means of positive feedback at intermediate frequency. The positive feedback is taken from a coupling winding 20 which is common to both anode and screen circuits, and consequently does not contain distribution noise components. It is applied to a circuit 21 which is tuned to the intermediate frequency and is preferably of low impedance to avoid additional circuit noise. The stability and selectivity of the arrangement may be retained at their original values by means of negative feedback derived from a further coupling winding 22 which is solely in the anode circuit.
