Abstract

548,539. Filter circuits. PHILCO RADIO & TELEVISION CORPORATION. April 10, 1941, No. 4796. Convention date, April 13, 1940. [Class 40 (iii)] A broad band coupling circuit between a preliminary amplifier V1 and a frequency-changer V2 comprises a shunt resistance arm 4 at the input end, a shunt arm 7, 8 at the output end tuned to the intermediate frequency of the receiver and a series arm 5, 6 of which the inductance is variably coupled to the inductance of the shunt arm and the capacity is adjusted to give the circuit maximum response at the low end of the range of frequencies covered. An example of suitable values of the circuit components for the broadcast band is given. A shielding cam 10 may be provided. Fig. 2 shows the equivalent circuit taking into account the self capacities of the inductances and valves.
