Abstract
514,640. Wireless receiving sets ; impedance networks. JOHNSON LABORATORIES Inc. May 11, 1938, No. 14078. Convention date, May 17, 1937. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] [Also in Group XXXV] In a superheterodyne receiver a parallelresonant circuit 3, 4, 6 is tuned to a desired . signal, and a series-resonant trap circuit 3, 6 is simultaneously tuned to an image signal by means of an adjustable common core 5. The capacitor 6 enables the circuit 3, 4, 6 to be aligned with the other circuits of the receiver, preferably near the high-frequency end of the tuning range. Electric inductances.-The self and mutual inductances of the coils 3, 4 are simultaneously varied in the desired relationship by movement of the core 5 by means of a lever 20. Coil 3 is a 3-layer bank-wound coil on a tube 15, and coil 4 is a 2-layer bank-wound coil on a tube 14. The variable condenser 6 is mounted on the base of the assembly.
