Abstract

600,301. Aerial coupling arrangements. COLE, Ltd., K.., and BROOKE, H. A. May 26, 1939, No. 15625. [Class 40 (v)] In an aerial circuit of the type adapted to feed long, medium and short waves to a radio receiver without wave range switching in the aerial circuit, the short wave aerial coil is isolated from the aerial by two series condensers which tune the medium wave coil to a frequency near to but below the medium wave band whilst the low potential end of the aerial is earthed, The aerial 1 is connected directly to the medium wave coil 2, which is earthed through a parallel circuit 3, 4 tuned to the long wave band. The medium wave coil 2 is tuned by a condenser 5, in series with a short wave coil 6 and condenser 7. The aerial is also connected to earth by an intermediate frequency filter 16, 15. Coils 8, 9, 10, coupled to the aerial coils 2, 4, 6 respectively, are tuned by condenser .11 and connected to the first stage of a superheterodyne receiver, the appropriate coil being selected by switch 12.
