Abstract
375,410. Wireless receiving apparatus. ROBINSON, J. and BRITISH RADIOSTAT CORPORATION, Ltd., 29, George Street, Hanover Square, London. March 26, 1931, No. 9290. [Class 40 (v).] In a super-heterodyne receiver, second channel interference is prevented by an auxiliary circuit the tuning element of which is ganged to the tuning element of the receiver. The receiver may use a low intermediate frequency as described in Specification 357,647 in order to obtain high selectivity. Fig. 1 shows a receiver including a rejector circuit 21 in the aerial circuit in series with the input circuit 10. In a modification, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown), the auxiliary circuit is connected to the valve input in parallel with the tuned circuit and so arranged that second channel interference in the two circuits is of equal and opposite phase. Means may be provided for the separate adjustment of one of the tuned circuits to obtain an accurate balance. Fig. 2 shows the construction of the ganged condenser, the rotor 27 being insulated by the bearing 28 and the member 29. The condenser is enclosed in a screening casing 25.
