376,670. Wireless receiving systems. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13D, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. Feb. 4, 1932, No. 3347. Convention date, Feb. 18, 1931. [Class 40 (v).] Relates to systems for cutting-out local interference by utilizing two aerials of unequal length and coupling them to the receiver in such a way that the common pick-up due to the interference is balanced out, leaving the desired signal alone to influence the set. According to the invention a balancing condenser 7 is inserted in series with the two aerial coils 4, 5 so as to adjust the effective earthing point 6. The coupling coils are enclosed in an earthed screening-box 9 ; capacity-coupling between them is prevented by an earthed screen 10; and the lead-in conductors to the set 3 are also screened at 11. Fig. 2 shows an alternative arrangement utilizing a differential condenser 14, 15 to adjust the earthing point. The two aerial coils may be tuned by condensers shunted across the coils 4, 5.
