Abstract

460,305. Valve circuits for wireless reception. COLE, Ltd., E. K., and COWLEY, R. I. Aug. 30, 1935, No. 24201. [Class 40 (v)] In a double detection supersonic heterodyne receiver using an aperiodic aerial input, the variable tuning of the receiver is located exclusively in the local oscillator circuit of the first valve and is remotely situated therefrom. The Figure shows an octode frequency changer in the first stage with the tuning condenser C4 at a remote point arranged to give a high intermediate frequency, e.g. 2,000 k.c. and a second frequency changer, a triode-hexode arranged to give a lower intermediate frequency, e.g. 110 k.c.
