Abstract

458,149. Valve circuits for wireless reception. RADIOAKT. - GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, Berlin. April 3, 1936, No. 9876. Convention date, April 6, 1935. Addition to 458,147. [Class 40 (v)] In a superheterodyne receiver using a mixing hexode radiation of the local oscillation due to coupling to the control grid to which the signals are applied is compensated by a balancing circuit as described in the parent Specification and an exact phase shift of 180‹ is obtained in the local oscillator circuit by dividing the tuning condenser into two parts 5<1>, 5<11> and feeding the anode and cathode through series impedances and connecting the mid-point of the series condensers to the cathode. Fig. 3 shows a circuit in which an earthed screen surrounds the frequency changer. Fig. 4 shows the separate oscillator enclosed with the tuned circuit by a screen 21 from which the condensers 5<1>, 5<11> are widely spaced and operated by an insulated spindle. The balancing condenser 19 is provided with an earthed intermediate adjusting plate and the frequency changer 1 is separately screened. The aerial is coupled through condenser 28 or a winding 30 to a choke 29 in the grid circuit of the frequency changer 1.
