Abstract
413,195. Valve currents for wireless reception. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, and SCHLESINGER, K., 39, Friedrichstrasse, Friedrichshagen, both in Berlin. Dec. 1, 1933, No. 33703. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1932. [Class 40 (v).] A short-wave adapter designed to cover wave-bands between 5 and 120 metres is characterized by the use of a combined detector, oscillator and mixer valve 1, backcoupled through the oscillatory circuit 8, 9 and the inherent valve capacities. The resulting beat frequencies are fed through the amplifier 18 to the input 63 of a standard broadcast receiver. The aerial is coupled to the oscillatory circuit 8, 9, across the anode and grid, by a small condenser 12 to reduce the effects of aerial capacity. The anode and grid resistances 6, 7 are of the low-capacity type and are preferably enclosed in the bulb of the valve 1. The intermediate-frequency is passed from the coupling-resistance 6, condensers 11, 16 and choke 20 to a tuned circuit 38, 40 across the grid and cathode of the amplifier 18. To prevent the oscillation frequency from leaking back into the aerial, the input arrangement shown in Fig. 2 may be used in which the moving plates of the condenser 50 are directly connected to the aerial whilst the fixed plates are across the oscillatory circuit 8, 9.
