Abstract
289,012. Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Weinberger, J.). April 19, 1927, [Convention date]. Thermionic heterodyne receivers; wired-wireless systems.-A superheterodyne set is arranged so as to receive at will either wireless programmes radiated within the normal broadcast range of frequencies between 500 and 1500 kilocycles, or programmes distributed by wired-wireless at frequencies between 50 and 150 kilocycles. The aerial 1 is permanently coupled to a radio-frequency amplifier 3, a local oscillator 5, and a first detector 4. A separate apparatus 6 comprises an intermediate-frequency amplifier operating at the wired-wireless carrier frequency, a second detector, and a low frequency amplifier feeding a loudspeaker 7. A switch 8 enables the unit 6 to be connected either to the output from the unit 4, or to the terminals 9, 10 of the wiredwireless line, and may also complete the filament and plate circuits of the operative valves.
