Abstract
477,048. Valve circuits for wireless reception; impedance networks. TRUEFITT, E. S. V. June 25, 1936, No. 17629. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] For excluding undesired signals having the intermediate frequency from a superheterodyne frequency-changer valve 1, a band-pass filter comprises two circuits 2, 3, 7, 6 and 4, 5, 7, 6, which are tuned to the desired signal and are coupled by an impedance 6, 7 tuned to the intermediate frequency. The latter may be 465 kc./sec., so as to lie between the long and medium wave-bands, and a uniform response may be obtained by choosing the aerial inductance 8 so that an aerial of average capacity is tuned to the intermediate frequency. The gain-control voltage may be applied through conductor 9 to the midpoint of the coupling impedance 7, 6. Instead of the inductance 6, the mutual inductance between coils 2 and 4 may resonate with the condenser 7. Specification 401,316 is referred to.
