Abstract
450,858. Valve circuits for wireless reception. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, Berlin. Jan. 24, 1935, No. 2347. Convention date, Jan. 25, 1934. Addition to 429,419. [Class 40 (v)] In a heterodyne receiver in which the aerial is connected as in the parent Specification to the moving plate of a differential condenser, the fixed plates of which are connected to the oscillating circuit so arranged that the aerial is decoupled from the oscillatory circuit, a resonance aerial is used having a length of a quarter or multiple thereof of the received wavelength. The Figure shows a frequency changer 10 and oscillator circuit 11, 12 associated with an aerial terminal 9 through differential condenser 14, 15. A quarter wave aerial 2 or a dipole 3 may be used in which case the transformer secondary 8 may be resonant to the received frequency while the primary is chosen to match the line impedance. The valve 10 is preferably of the screen-grid or interception grid type and long wave interference may be avoided by filtering devices 16, 17, 18 and 21. The amplitude of the local oscillation is maintained constant by grid resistance 20. The invention is shown applied to a short-wave superheterodyne television receiver incorporating automatic gain regulation.
