Abstract
470,372. Wireless receiving circuits. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. Jan. 22, 1937, No. 1984. Convention date, Jan. 22, 1936. [Class 40 (v)] The selectivity of a radio receiver is automatically regulated in dependence upon the strength of high audio frequencies derived from the audio frequency portion of the receiver. In the embodiment shown, G is the signal rectifier and N a low-frequency amplifier, part of the output from which is applied to a second rectifier GL through a high pass note filter K which selects the higher audio frequencies. The resultant voltage is applied to vary the grid bias of a valve R acting as a variable damping impedance in series with a coil in the radio frequency filter network B ; the selectivity is thereby increased as the high note frequency amplitude increases. Alternatively the control voltage may be applied to vary the coupling of network B or both damping and coupling.
