Abstract
258,969. Igranic Electric Co., Ltd., and Willans, P. W. July 9, 1925. Undesired signals, eliminating or limiting.-A rejector circuit 1, 2, tuned to the interfering frequency, is inserted in the grid of the low-frequency amplifying valve Vl, and is back-coupled to a reaction coil 3 to reduce its effective resistance, whilst at the same time it is coupled to the aerial tuning inductance 4 so as to increase the aerial impedance to the undesired signals. A condenser 5 is shunted across the secondary of the transformer to complete the grid circuit for high-frequency currents necessary to maintain the reaction effect on the circuit 1, 2. The valve Vl therefore functions not only to reduce the effective resistance of the rejector circuit but also in the normal manner of a note magnifier. In a supersonic receiver an intermediate or low-frequency amplifying valve may be used in like manner.
