594,657. Impedance networks; aerial coupling arrangements. EGGLETON, C. W. Sept. 6, 1944, No. 17024. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] A tuning circuit arrangement, particularly for a short aerial as used with a receiver in a motor vehicle, having a tunable circuit comprising an inductance 2 and capacity 3 and a parallel-resonant circuit comprising a stray capacity 4 associated with the aerial 1 and an inductance 6 coupled to the tunable circuit by a capacity 5, incorporates a double-pole switch 7 which, in the dotted line position, shortcircuits the inductance 2 so that the inductance 6 and the variable capacity 3 become the elements of a tuning circuit for another wave band. The parallel-resonant circuit is preferably tuned to a frequency of approximately 550 kilocycles per second corresponding to the low-frequency end of the medium wave-band and the circuit with the switch 7 in the dottedline position is utilized for the long wave-band. The tuning circuit arrangement may be used as an interstage coupling. Specification 383,987 is referred to.
