[Class 40 (viii)] In a band-pass filter suitable for a radioreceiver, the band-width remains constant as the filter is tuned. The filter comprises two tuned circuits inductively coupled together, one of them being tuned by means of variable capacity shunting a fixed capacity, the other by means of a variable inductance shunting. the fixed coupling inductance. The variable elements are gauged so that the effect on bandwidth of variation in the coefficient of coupling neutralizes that of variation in mid-band frequency. The tuning elements may be varied by means of uni-controlled selector switches, Fig. 1 (not shown), or may be continuously variable, Fig. 2 (not shown).
